Zenith Bank Hosts 7th Annual Non-Oil Export Business Seminar

The 7th Annual Zenith Bank International Trade Seminar will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Civic Center, Victoria Island, Lagos, and virtually.

The seminar, themed “Unleashing Opportunities in Nigeria’s Non-Oil Export Activities”, is part of Zenith Bank’s efforts to support Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) initiatives to develop the country’s non-oil export sector.

It will attract the participation of trade professionals, local and foreign exporters, manufacturers, financial institutions and government agencies. This forum would be an opportunity for all participants, including relevant government agencies, to explore ways to unlock the immense opportunities in Nigeria’s non-oil export sector.

The seminar will feature a welcome address by Zenith Bank Plc Group Managing Director, Ebenezer Onyeagwu, while the keynote speaker will be Aliko Dangote, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group. Messages of goodwill will be delivered by very eminent personalities, including the founder and chairman of Zenith Bank Plc, Jim Ovia, CON; Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, CON; Secretary General, African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), His Excellency, WamkeleMene; and President/President of the African Export-Import Bank, Prof. Benedict OkeyOramah.

There will be three round tables during the seminar. The first panel, titled “Unlocking Opportunities in Nigeria’s Non-Oil Export Business: Operator/Practitioner Perspectives”, will focus on the value chain and outlook for the non-oil export sector and will feature five speakers, including the Managing Director of GACON Ltd. The second panel, titled “Financing/Logistics/Government support to the non-oil export sector”, will explore the availability of long-term funds, insurance and reinsurance, and the risk-sharing mechanism for the non-oil export sector. . The third roundtable, titled “The ABCs of Non-Oil Export”, will focus on the pitfalls of non-oil export activity, the standardization and classification of major export commodities, as well as the export of services, especially the burgeoning Nigerian creativity. industry.
